A mild ectropion may only be visible on the nose side of the eyelid, and it may cause some tearing of the eye.A moderate ectropion will not only cause some watering, but also look rather sore. (click image for magnification) |
Here is an example of a more severely outturned eyelid, which will cause some infection too.If an operation in the eye itself is planned this outturning of the eyelid will need to be corrected first. The infection can spread into the eye with possible poor outcome. (click image for magnification) |
